Research Fellows/Consultants to Conduct Training Services
About CALR
The Centre for Applied Legal Research (CALR) is a research institute duly registered in accordance with the Laws of Zimbabwe. Established in 2010, CALR is essentially a community of legal scholars engaged in undertaking applied legal research and the provision of legal advisory and training services in Zimbabwe and the Southern Africa region. CALR houses legal researchers (including legal academics and retired Judges) with a variety of skills ranging from legal analysis to legislative drafting in diverse areas of the law. To further its mandate CALR seeks to recruit Research Fellows/Consultants to assist with project management training services to strengthen institutional capacities of our targeted clients.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The Research Fellows/ Consultants will be expected to execute the following roles and duties, including, but not limited to:
- Undertaking training needs assessments on programme and project management;
- Development of training material based on the training needs assessment findings, including training material on: Policy research, analysis and advocacy; Monitoring, learning and evaluation; Documentation and visibility; Approaches to fundraising (i.e. proposal development etc.); and Principles and approaches to change management;
- Conducting and facilitating training sessions; and
- Executing any other capacity building initiatives which may arise
N.B – The selection of Research fellows/Consultants and expected deliverables will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Qualifications and experience required
The prospective candidates:
Have at least a Master’s Degree in the relevant relevant field; at least five years professional experience in project management; demonstrated experience in working with government partners and other stakeholders in public sector development programs especially in the area of institutional strengthening and capacity development; high level written and oral communications skills in English; Skills in facilitation of stakeholder engagements/workshops; evidence of having undertaken similar assignments; experience in research, policy development, management and programming-related work.
